A trickling waterfall creates a soothing soundtrack as I walk along the edge of the koi pond. The pale koi and deep bronzed goldfish weave in and out of one another’s paths, darting undercover of the lily pads and then emerging again into the center where I can observe them. They are graceful, arcing and twisting their lithe bodies, like water ballerinas … synchronized swimmers. And once in a while, in the midst of their performance, they seem to be arranged in perfect symmetry.

While visiting a butterfly house out of the country I was able to photograph some koi in a pond there. They moved too quick for the lens and in one photo it looks like a ghost koi! 😀
I thought they might be too fast for me too, but I was able to get a couple of decent shots, if not always the exact arrangement I was aiming for. 🙂 I try to photograph dogs too, and that can be interesting. Sometimes, they are too active to be cooperative with the camera. 🙂
Bugs, birds and butterflies aren’t always co-operative either 🙂 but we have fun trying 😀

There was one pelican in FL who was a ‘ham’ for a bunch of us though 😉 Fun when that happens.
Hee hee. That reminds me of when I was in Tampa with a Florida friend. We saw a pelican strutting all over a boat at dock, and we watched him for the longest time.
