A Writer’s Life

Curious questions plague my mind,

just when I’m ready to unwind,

These thoughts refuse to let me be,

E’en when the clock says it is three,

Compelling me right out of bed,

To straight to the computer head.

So works curiosity,

Mother of creativity.

  1. Excellently said! Without it, what on earth would we write? Sometimes I wake up with ideas at 3am, but I’m often too tired to write them down.

    1. The same with me. I get out of bed sometimes and sometimes not. I also really do have burning questions I feel I have to Google, which may be part of the creative process. Sometimes, I wish I could write down my half-asleep dreams/thoughts. They could be interesting creative fodder.

    1. I’m glad you can relate (in a way) although this can be a pain in the neck. 😛 🙂 Ideas are good though. 🙂

  2. Those middle-of-the-night thoughts that won’t go away. I’ve taken to e-mailing them to myself on my Ipad, knowing I’ll find them in the morning on my computer!

    1. Not a bad idea. 🙂 I sometimes wish I could record myself. Wouldn’t it be great if there was some technology that would translate our thoughts straight to typewritten words? Only, I suppose, if we were extremely sleepy, we might be surprised by the gibberish we’d read later. Ha ha.

    1. I too remember searching the encyclopedia, only we had a set at home. We still do actually. Of course, some of that information is outdated now.
